Cub Cadet Ultima Z3 50S

If your property has hills that make you think twice before firing up the mower, the Z3 50S deserves a closer look. Cub Cadet built this 50-inch zero-turn with Synchro-Steer™ technology — a steering wheel and 4-wheel control system that keeps you tracking straight on slopes up to 20 degrees. For Pacific Northwest properties with uneven ground and unpredictable terrain, that kind of stability isn't a luxury, it's the whole point.

The 23 HP Kawasaki® FR Series engine (726cc twin-cylinder) gives you consistent power across the cutting width without the drop-off you sometimes notice with smaller engines pushing a 50-inch deck through thick grass. The dual Hydro-Gear ZT 2800 hydrostatic transmissions deliver up to 7 MPH forward — smooth and controllable without any shifting or clutching.

The deck itself is 11-gauge steel, reinforced fabricated construction with side, top, and leading-edge reinforcements. That's heavier-built than a lot of residential mowers in this class, and it shows in the cut quality. Three blades across 50 inches, 15 height positions from 1 to 4.5 inches, and an electric PTO engagement means you're not fighting a manual belt system every time you need to switch.

The 20-inch high-back seat with armrests and custom bolster foam does real work reducing vibration fatigue. Add the SoftTouch™ steering wheel and rubber floor mat, and you'll notice the difference after a couple hours on rough ground. There's also a step assist for getting on and off easily — a small thing that matters when you're doing it 10 times a session.

The front LED light bar is notably brighter than standard twin headlights, useful when you're finishing a pass in early evening. An hour meter is standard, which helps you stay on top of maintenance intervals.

Turf Armor® tires front and rear are designed to minimize turfing on wet or soft ground — a practical consideration for the wet seasons common across Northwest Oregon.
