Vitalix Supplement Tubs

Beet molasses base, no fillers, and a cooking process that actually controls intake. We stock cattle, equine, and small ruminant formulas.

Why we switched to Vitalix

Most supplement tubs change with the weather. They soften in summer, harden in winter, and your animals' intake swings all over the place. You end up guessing whether your herd's actually getting what they need.

Vitalix uses a patented continuous-flow cooking process that adjusts hardness for your specific region and season. The tubs we get in January are cooked differently than the ones we get in July. Same formula, different hardness - so intake stays consistent year-round.

The base is beet molasses, not cheap fillers. Animals like it, they consume it at predictable rates, and you can actually budget around it. That's why we've stocked Vitalix for years - it does what it says on the label.

Same intake, any weather

Tubs are cooked for your region and season. A 250-lb tub supports 30-40 head at consistent daily rates.

Holds up in wet weather

Low-moisture cooking means the tubs don't turn to mush when it rains. Important around here.

Real ingredients

Beet molasses base, Diamond V yeast, Zinpro minerals. No fillers to pad the weight.

Family-owned since 1989

Vitalix started in Minden, Nebraska when the owner saw that existing supplement tubs weren't cutting it for ranchers. They've been making tubs ever since - nothing else. That focus shows in the product.

They cook tubs to order based on where they're going and what time of year. A tub headed to the Pacific Northwest in winter gets cooked differently than one going to Texas in summer. Same nutrition, adjusted hardness.

We stock five formulas. Three cattle tubs in 250 lb (the #1 Conditioner, #4 Hi Mag, and #7 Commercial Cow Mineral), plus a 50 lb All Species tub that's sheep-safe, and a 25 lb Goat Choice for goat operations.

Common Questions

How many head per tub?
The 250-lb cattle tubs handle 30-40 head for the #1 Conditioner and #7 Mineral, or 20-30 head for the #4 Hi Mag (higher consumption formula). The 50-lb All Species covers 20-30 head of cattle or 40 head of sheep/goats. The 25-lb Goat Choice handles 10-20 goats.
What about the consumption guarantee?
Each formula has a stated consumption rate - usually measured in pounds per 1,000 lb animal per day. If your herd is eating way more or way less than that under normal conditions, Vitalix will adjust the hardness on your next order or work with you to find a better formula. They take that seriously.
Which tub for sheep?
The #20 All Species - it has no added copper, which matters because sheep are highly susceptible to copper toxicity. It's also what you want for mixed grazing with cattle, horses, sheep, and goats together. Don't use the Goat Choice for sheep.
When do I need the Hi Mag formula?
Early spring when pastures green up fast. Lush, fast-growing grass is often low in magnesium, and cattle can't store it. The #4 Hi Mag prevents grass tetany by delivering a steady magnesium supply. Switch back to #1 Conditioner once grass matures.
