About This Product
Silage bags store serious tonnage without permanent structures. A 9-foot by 200-foot bag holds 200-225 tons of corn silage. The 12 and 14-foot bags go up to 500 feet and hold over 1,000 tons each.
The sealed environment keeps oxygen out, reducing dry matter losses. University of Nebraska research shows open piles can lose 10-20% to surface spoilage—bags cut that significantly when maintained properly.
Things to Know
Bags need monitoring. Rodents, birds, and equipment can puncture them. Patch holes quickly with oxygen-barrier tape (not duct tape). For feed-out, plan to remove 6-8 inches off the face daily in summer, less in winter.
UV-stabilized polyethylene holds up 12+ months outdoors. We stock common sizes and can order specialty lengths as needed.
