Honda Foreman TRX500

This Honda FourTrax Foreman TRX500FM1 4x4 came in as a trade with 190 miles on it. For a machine built to run for decades, that's barely past break-in.

The 475cc liquid-cooled single is fuel-injected, so there's no choke to fuss with on a cold morning and no carburetor to gum up sitting through a wet winter. This is the manual foot-shift model — five speeds plus reverse with an automatic clutch, and the simpler of the two Foreman setups.

TraxLok switches between two-wheel and four-wheel drive, with a locking front differential for when you've got a wheel spinning in a muddy gateway. Ground clearance is 7.5 in., and the rear brake is a sealed drum — worth having when you're crossing wet pasture instead of dry trail. Racks carry 88 lbs front and 176 lbs rear, and it'll tow 848 lbs.
